I know i haven't been around in a few decades but I'm still doing art. I've just been posting it on my tumblr. :|

On to the commission news!

The computer that I currently use is slowly dying. I can't use it anymore without having it hooked into my t.v This makes doing things a bit more difficult seeing as my t.v is waaay higher than my laptop is. (pretty much on the floor) It's also running a bit slow and glitches from time to time. Basically, I'm opening up commissions to help raise money to get myself a new computer. My ultimate goal is $1000 towards a computer that I can build myself and upgrade as needed over time. I'm only asking for about $600 and the rest I will try to make up as best I can.

I'm opening up Pokemon Sketch Commissions to help raise money to get myself a better working computer that I'll be building myself.

They're only $12 and the only commissions of their kind out of what I offer. I got the suggestion from my very good friend Pugletto, so I thought I would give it a go. So far it's a lot of fun. :)

All you have to do is send me a recent photo of yourself (preferably waist up or full body) along with your pick of one (1) favorite pokemon and deviant art name. Then I'll take care of the rest. You can send it through email or here on D.A. Also, make sure you email me and let me know that you have paid so I know who has and who hasn't. I only take payments via Paypal so email your payments to loren_p@att.net I'll do my best to get them done as they come in. I'll mostly be posting in the evening since I work during the day.

I can't wait to see what will be next! :)

I Need a Change

1 min read
I would like to get better with my work.

It's as simple as that. I need the critique that I'm not getting. Not so much on scraps unless it's process and I need an opinion, but mostly for the final images that i'll produce. I feel like I'm stuck and I really need an extra boost.

So if you're going to critique, please say why you feel the way you do and give me ideas on how to fix it. I would really like to grow as and artist and I'm trying to seek help for any of the sources that I have, including this one. So if you all could help me out, please do. :)

Also, I encourage you to look at my scraps from time to time. There are some pretty interesting things in there. :D

Later everyone

So everyone!

I went to San Diego Comic Con for the first time last weekend.

IT WAS AMAZING!

I had a lot of fun with my friend :iconrevolegnever: She was able to help me out a lot with getting me tickets and getting me to San Diego for the con.

So a lot happened but I'm only going to go over the main things that happened. I went to the con and the first day I went to meet with :iconalohalilo: (Chris Sanders) Which was amazing! I got a Comic Con Exclusive print of his new movie at Dreamworks called "The Croods", I got one of his art books as well as a few things signed for me and some friends who weren't able to go. I asked him a few questions and over all just had a good time. He is one of the nicest people ever. If you ever get to meet him, please do. He is an amazing artist and a really cool guy. :) After that, I went around a bit and met up with some friends from Steam Crow and got their comic con exclusive Nosferatu print as well. My friend Revo and I chatted with them for awhile before venturing off to see what else the con had to offer. I believe it wasn't until Saturday that I got to meet with Nickelodeon for a Portfolio Review. Overall it went well. They liked my work and told me what I could add to it and I went on my way. It makes me feel great because now I have a better understanding of what I need to do. So I'll be working on that stuff as soon as possible. Whenever I have free time, I'll be beefing up my portfolio. :excited: I feel like there's something there for me so I'm really trying for Nickelodeon. ^_^

Anyway, after Nickelodeon, I walked around some more and took lots of pictures. I went to see Jim Lee in a panel. He did a few sketches and gave some away. I didn't get one but it's ok. ;w; I did get his autograph on my Batman HUSH comic so I'm happy about that. The last day of Comic Con was very short. I maybe stayed for 4 or 5 hours. I got to meet up with :iconjusscope: again which was nice. I got his comic con exclusive print as well which is awesome! We chatted for a little bit but since my friend's cousin was with us, we wanted to give him enough time to experience the con before it was over. So off I went again to take some more pictures and before I knew it, it was over.

It was A LOT of fun. I'm glad I went to go and I definitely want to go again! ^_^ Though next time i'll be on the hunt for famous people i want to meet and free "swag". I told myself i'd never use that word but it totally works for the free stuff you get. If you get the chance to go, DO IT! There's so much to do! I didn't even do half of what I wanted but I still feel like it was a very successful trip. :)

I'm a little late on updating this but that's ok! :)

I had a great time at the PHX Comic Con even though i did fall a little ill like two days before. It was just really bad allergies, noting contagious like the T-Virus (even though for some reason all of my friends say I'm going to be the first zombie.) So no worries!

so, on to my adventure!

I didn't do a WHOLE lot seeing as I wasn't feeling the greatest, but i did get pictures of some awesome cosplays. ^_^ Hopefully I can upload a few of those over my upcoming break. I also got to meet some famous people of course like LeVar Burton and Ed Asner so that was really cool. I was also part of the At Your Service Maid Cafe on Saturday. We served a lot of people, did some dances and played games with all of the customers. We even had some cool prizes for them to win.

Though, whenever I go to a con I'm MOSTLY looking for cool artwork to buy. I love supporting my fellow artists and talking with them about different techniques, getting critique and overall just making new connections. I met some really awesome people and bought some awesome art, two of which are here on dA! :icondaxiong:and :iconjusscope:. Go check them out! They're awesome artists and awesome people. :) I also met James A. Owen who is a friend of one my instructors at my collage. They worked together on a few feature length animations so I'm HOPING that I can get him to come to my school and talk to a few of the animation students about his experiences and maybe what tips he can pass off to us "n00bs". :)

Overall I had a pretty good time. I spent most of my time talking with people and taking pictures with cosplayers which was fine by me.

In other news,

I hope to get some new artwork up over the break. I have a contest entry for The Lost Kids comic I'm trying to get done, as well as a collaboration with Steam Crow, and some concepts for Penumbra. If you don't know what penumbra is, it's a world that my friend :iconpugcrumbs: and I are working on so please please PLEASE go check it out and show your support if you like it! :D penumbrainproduction.tumblr.co…

Well that's all for now. Graduation is getting close and I have my heart set on moving to San Fran or Seattle. I really hope I can get a job and make my way over there. We'll see what happens.

Later! :D

So! As you all can see, I've been trying to make a come back from the art grave. I hope you guys enjoy what I have to offer. :)

I'm also Open for commissions at any time. Just ask me about prices in a note for now. I'll post a journal up later with all that information if enough people are interested. Prices start at $10.

I'm in my final year of college and I graduate in 3 quarters. ^_^ yay! So I'm looking forward to that indeed.

WELL,

I don't have much to chat about right now but I'll have more and more as the weeks pass hopefully. I plan to be a lot more active so get ready guys! :D
